My Top 5 of the Week!

1. I FINALLY got my first PSL of the season!!!! ...And it was FANTASTIC!

2. I have been knocking things off my Fall Bucket List left and right! After the second foot injury of the year happened two weeks ago, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to do that 5k I wanted to check off my fall bucket list. Well, I couldn't do a 5k, but I was able to do the Alzheimer's walk! Nothing better than raising money for such a good cause! I had 3 very special ladies that were near and dear to my heart that I walked in memory of.

3. This week I have been focusing on Proverbs. I think Proverbs has to be one of my favorite books.  Its definitely one of the best books for guidance! I need lots of that!!!

4. One of my best friends had her beautiful baby this week.  I already love this precious little girl. I can't wait to spoil her!

5. The first bon fire of the season! It was such a beautiful peaceful night.

Book Review: The Longest Ride

The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks

GoodReads Synopsis:

Ira Levinson is in trouble. At ninety-one years old, in poor health and alone in the world, he finds himself stranded on an isolated embankment after a car crash. Suffering multiple injuries, he struggles to retain consciousness until a blurry image materializes and comes into focus beside him: his beloved wife Ruth, who passed away nine years ago. Urging him to hang on, she forces him to remain alert by recounting the stories of their lifetime together – how they met, the precious paintings they collected together, the dark days of WWII and its effect on them and their families. Ira knows that Ruth can’t possibly be in the car with him, but he clings to her words and his memories, reliving the sorrows and everyday joys that defined their marriage.
A few miles away, at a local rodeo, a Wake Forest College senior’s life is about to change. Recovering from a recent break-up, Sophia Danko meets a young cowboy named Luke, who bears little resemblance to the privileged frat boys she has encountered at school. Through Luke, Sophia is introduced to a world in which the stakes of survival and success, ruin and reward -- even life and death – loom large in everyday life. As she and Luke fall in love, Sophia finds herself imagining a future far removed from her plans -- a future that Luke has the power to rewrite . . . if the secret he’s keeping doesn’t destroy it first.
Ira and Ruth. Sophia and Luke. Two couples who have little in common, and who are separated by years and experience. Yet their lives will converge with unexpected poignancy, reminding us all that even the most difficult decisions can yield extraordinary journeys: beyond despair, beyond death, to the farthest reaches of the human heart.

My Thoughts:

I really liked this book, even if it was a little too "fairy tale-ish" for me.  It's a typical Nicholas Sparks book, so, you know, it's a love story that ends with a character dying. (If you are a Sparks reader, you know this isn't a spoiler alert!) I like how diverse the characters were in this book.  That was a little different compared to the other Sparks books I have read. I also watched the movie. As usual, the movie didn't follow the book exactly. I definitely liked the book better. The only reason why I enjoyed the movie was because of Scott Eastwood....especially when he was shirtless! Can I get an Amen, Ladies?
Have you read it?

My Fall 2015 Bucket List

Fall is quickly approaching. I am so excited for everything that it entails!!! In order to accomplish everything I want to do this fall, I have compiled a bucket list to fulfill. My goal is to at least check off one thing per week! Here it is in no particular order:

-Get the new an improved PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE from Starbucks!!!!
-Participate in a 5k. (Unfortunately, I can't run since the fractured bone on the bottom of     my foot still  hasn't healed; but, I can walk!)
-Go to a Farmer's Market.
-Make some fall decorations.
-Go to a pumpkin festival.
-Have a fall picnic.
-Bake Pies.
-Hike in a state park.
-Take a fall foliage road trip.
-Go to an Oktoberfest.
-Pick apples. (Maybe I could check 2 off by picking apples and then making pie!)
-Go to a pumpkin patch to pick out pumpkins, then carve them and roast the seeds!
-Get an apple cider from Tim Horton's....seriously the best! Or make my own mulled apple   cider!
-Have a backyard bonfire.
-Go through a corn maze
-Crochet a blanket. (I don't know how to knit!)
-Make a fall wreath.
-Read a classic. (I don't know why, but every fall I love to pick out a classic I've never read    and read it.)

Have you made a Fall Bucket List? If not, I challenge you to make one! Please message me yours, I'd love to read them!!!
